ONE Volleyball was founded to provide professional training and competition opportunities to elite post-secondary athletes in Canada.

Our mission is to establish the first-ever professional volleyball league in Canada - the Premier League

Co-founders Jaki and Jolande have combined experience playing Professional and National Team volleyball, as well as professionally working within a number of Provincial, National and Professional sport associations for more than 10 years.

Within 2 weeks of announcing the Premier League on social media, this video had over 14,000 views nation-wide.

What can we do together?

The Premier League is focused on bringing professional volleyball to Canada and with that comes an increase in off-court professional development from the athletes involved. 

Strengthening ourselves to better prepare for high level competition is one of ONE Volleyball's core values (see bottom of this page) and so partnering with an organization that promotes this will be a mutually supportive partnership.

Together we can establish volleyball as a professional sport in North America while giving athletes a chance to build a professional career within or outside volleyball, and shape local hero's for our youth to look up to.

What can we do for you?

ONE Volleyball caters to men and women (approx. 50/50) between the ages of 18-34, and we are major social influencers in our sport community. The majority of our audience and competitors are in the GTA, but we have followers globally tuning in to our programs.

The Premier League has two audience channels; participants and spectators. Our participants are those in need of your services and education now - they are already making way into your facility to prepare themselves for the elite competition. Our audience is made up of volleyball enthusiasts, athletes and the general public. 

As we create role models and local hero's, young players from the community will be able to look at our athletes and this league for inspiration. They'll need to know how do I get there? What does it take? And though we have the answers, we want to be able to send them to a partner that represents professional volleyball in Canada.

How to get the most out of this partnership

BE PRESENT!!

Through a partnership with the Athlete Matrix we really want to emphasize that you are the ONLY place to seek out professional development as an athlete, and that you are the BEST resource to up and coming athletes who are looking to excel at the given stage in their volleyball careers. 

Booth: Right when you come in the main entrance to the gym (only entrance), there will be bleachers on the centre court that face out to the two courts beside it. There is room right at the front for a big booth/display for our title sponsor. Aside from signage, having a TV with your videos showing the Athlete Matrix as well as coaches training people at the Athlete Matrix would really help people visualize themselves in your space. 

If you want to have an Athlete Matrix zone, where you can have trainers do mini sessions and give advice on how to accomplish certain goals (similar to all the videos you put out with your great advice), that would be a great way to engage people. This could be a roped off area with turf and some blocks/training devices. 

Lead Capture is the ultimate tool in event promotions. We recommend having iPad's on hand to capture customer information whether through a giveaway, promotion, trial offer etc. Capture what their goals are as athletes so your follow up is specific to helping them achieve something they already want to achieve. Giving out business cards means they have to follow up with you, but you want to capture their information so you have the ability to follow up with them. 

In-game promotions: The sky is the limit for mid-game promotions: serve to win, dance contest, trivia etc. and you can giveaway personal coaching sessions, gym memberships, online memberships etc. Throw branded t-shirts or towels into the crowd, or provide the athletes of the game a prize for a photo opportunity.

Blog: We want to feature the the athletes working with you in your facility. As a title or presenting sponsor, let us promote the success of the volleyball athletes you are working with to our audience. Our blog is our STRONGEST presence in our community and is what helped catapult our Google relevance and ranking to the #1 spot. 

Social Media Contests and featured athletes: Running promotions through your own accounts during the league and tagging us will not only improve your Google relevance, but it will help you engage with our audience outside of the gym. Posting photos of Premier League athletes who train in your gym as they accomplish things like; most number of aces, best kill %, most number of digs etc will help to highlight the success of the athletes using your programs. 

Featured Athlete Showcase: We want to run an 'ad campaign' of featured athletes in strong poses/gym poses (see Andrew Cobb Photography for example) and a really great way to include you as a major sponsor would be to orchestrate this in your gym, with some of the top Premier League athletes. The ads would be used to promote the athletes in their upcoming matches this season. The Athlete Showcase would be a front-liner on our website, and have it's own featured page. We would use a professional photographer to obtain quality photos.

Our very active social media presence is what enables us to be successful this early in our business development. That paired with our partnership with Volleyball Source, we are able to reach thousands of Canadians organically through engaging content.

Post engagement is a success when it is 10% of your reach. As you can see here, our post engagement after Challenger no.1 was 110% of our reach.

Overview: The Premier league is comprised of 4 elite men's and 4 elite women's teams that play each other twice over the course of 2 months, with a final four weekend championship at the end. 

Athletes apply to be in the draft through the ONE Volleyball league website, and are selected to teams through a closed draft. This draft allows the initial player selection to be fair to all clubs invested in the league. The Lululemon Premier Draft - May 18 - is the public on-site event that announces the teams and drafted players two weeks before the start of the Premier League.

Athletes are not required to pay a fee to play in the Premier League. In Year one, we expect <5% of athletes participating in the league will be paid a salary. In Year two, we expect <10% of athletes will be paid a salary. In Year three, we expect that at least 20% of athletes will be paid a salary. In all contracts we expect that clubs will offer athletes the opportunity to coach and mentor young athletes in their club through camps, clinics and team programs.

One of ONE Volleyball's founders, Jolande Amoraal, went through MTI's mental toughness training program, which has made a significant impact on her approach to every day life. MTI's training focus is hugely effective and applicable both on and off the court. 

VolleyJump was founded by another former Canadian beach volleyball athlete Reid Hall, who's strength and conditioning program has reached and developed athletes all across the world. He now also works with Elite teams such as the Ontario Blue Jays through his own facility, the Athlete Matrix.
